High-speed and DV video

This site is dedicated to digital video and will give detailed information on this technology.

Generally there are two types of cameras:

	Cameras that are compatible to the DV (digital video) standard. These devices provide PAL (25 frames per second) or NTSC (29.97 frames per second) signals and are manufactured by Sony, Canon, Panasonic and other well-known companies.
	Cameras that do not comply with these standards. These high-speed cameras are mostly used in industrial applications and provide from 5 to 300 frames per second using the FireWire bus or up to several thousand frames per second using CameraLink or other bus systems.

Both types of cameras are often used for motion analysis in medicine, sports science and industry.
